The story

Sanlorenzo was founded in 1958 at Limite sull'Arno, near Florence, by shipwrights Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia. Under Giovanni Jannetti from 1972, the yard moved to fibreglass yet refused series logic: few boats, long build times, each hull tailored to its owner. That deliberate scarcity built a clientele that treated a Sanlorenzo as a quiet signal rather than a statement.

Massimo Perotti acquired the company in 2005, multiplied revenue from Ameglia, La Spezia and Massa, and listed it in Milan in 2019 — all while defending the made-to-measure credo. The SL planing line, SD semi-displacement series, SX crossovers and SP coupés share restrained styling by Zuccon and collaborations with figures of design and contemporary art. Sanlorenzo today rivals the largest groups while behaving, on purpose, like an atelier.
