Our take

The Fly 68 carries two signatures that explain its price position. Outside, one of Stefano Righini's last Azimut profiles, its raked mullions and long glazing kept light by a carbon-fibre superstructure — the material choice that lets Azimut stack a full flybridge on a 68-footer without penalising stability or speed. Inside, Achille Salvagni's interior brought curved, almost sculptural joinery and soft geometries to a class used to straight lines, and it still reads as the most designed cabin of the segment. The MAN V12s push it past 30 knots, with a genuine 25-knot cruise; the hull is a competent modern V without the Princess's ultimate composure in short seas. Four cabins plus aft crew follow the class template, the full-beam owner's suite gaining Salvagni's double-curved headboard wall as its set piece. It sells on design literacy and brand reach — Azimut's dealer network is the industry's widest — more than on dynamic superiority, and it sells extremely well.

Worth noting

  • Carbon superstructure enabling a full flybridge
  • Achille Salvagni sculptural interior design
  • 31-knot top speed on MAN V12 power
  • Industry's widest dealer and service network
