Ferretti Yachts 720

The 720 shows Ferretti Yachts doing what it has done since the 1980s, updated by Filippo Salvetti's cleaner pencil: a serious planing flybridge for owners who cruise with crew but without ceremony. The hull is conservative in the best sense — 51 tonnes moved at a 24-knot cruise by MAN V12s, with the reassuring, slightly weighty motion of an Adriatic-bred sea boat rather than a light Riviera sprinter. Salvetti's exterior brought near-vertical bow, deep glazing and a flybridge that accepts a spa pool; Ideaeitalia's interiors stay in the brand's residential register, walnut and bronze tones over showpiece minimalism. The four-cabin plan adds proper crew quarters for three, a genuine distinction from Anglo-Saxon rivals at this length that assume a couple runs the boat. Against the Azimut Fly 68 it is the more classical, more crewed proposition; against Sanlorenzo, the more accessible one. It is the definition of the segment's centre of gravity.
